Directorial Work: The Sweet Science Suite: A Scientific Soul Music Honoring of Muhammad Ali
The Sweet Science Suite: A Scientific Soul Music Honoring of Muhammad Ali is a martial arts ballet production, celebrating the fighting spirit of Muhammad Ali and his determination to never give up in the face of powerful opposition. The Sweet Science Suite was a final magnum opus of the late Fred Ho, who is my mentor and a most acclaimed and celebrated Asian American composer, baritone saxophone player, activist, and writer. It was performed at BAM’s Harvey theater as a part of BAM 2013 Next Wave Festival.
Performing works at New York City downtown theaters
Starting from Hamyul:Hamlet, directed by Byung Koo Ahn at La mama ETC in 2012 summer, I have had a great luck of performing in various productions in New York City downtown theatre as an actor and a singer. My passion in performance introduced me to theater arts as I transferred to University of Wisconsin-Madison in my early 20s and ever since then I've been lucked out to collaborate with talented actors and directors, such as Marina Celander, Sonoko Kawahara, Ernest Abuba and more.
